Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv and Dragan Bender are together again after the big man signed a three-month deal with the Israeli champs with an option for the remainder of the season. Bender (2.12 meters, 22 years old) spent two seasons in Israel as a teenager between 2014 and 2016. He played on loan for Ironi Ramat Gan in the first of those seasons and played with Maccabi in the EuroLeague in the second.
Bender was selected by Phoenix with the fourth overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft and played three seasons with the club. He split the 2019-20 campaign between Milwaukee and Golden State. He averaged 9.0 points and 5.9 rebounds in his time with the Warriors. At Maccabi, Bender will be reunited with Yovel Zoosman, the only remaining player on the squad from his time there, and his Croatian junior national teammate Ante Zizic.
