CSKA Moscow added some scoring punch to its backcourt with the signing of guard Gabriel Iffe Lundberg, the club announced on Monday. Lundberg (1.93 meters, 26 years old) arrives from Polish side Stelmet Zielona Gora, with which he was third in the VTB United League in scoring with 20.4 points per game this season. He also averaged 5.4 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game. Stelmet won the Polish Cup over the weekend with Lundberg as MVP: Lundberg started his professional career as a teenager with Falcon in his native Denmark and also played for Copenhagen and Horsens before heading abroad. He signed with Spanish club Manresa in 2017 and after two seasons there played one for Tenerife.
" We strongly believed that we needed to strengthen our backcourt and Iffe, with his talent and experience in international competitions, is ideal for this purpose," Coach Itoudis said of the signing. "He has already proven his willingness to go all out in a different situation, playing for a club that has big goals and different expectations. We welcome Iffe and wish him all the best in our club."
