The first taste of the 2021-22 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season landed in Berlin, Germany on Monday when ALBA Berlin hosted its costumary Media Day sessions. In late May of next year, the season will be decided in the same city as the 2022 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four will be celebrated in the German capital for the third time since 2009.
As always, new faces drew the most attention during Media Day, including the one of head coach Israel Gonzalez, a long-time assistant for former boss Aito Garcia-Reneses, who decided to take a sabbathical this campaign. Newcomers Jaleen Smith, Yovel Zoosman or Tamir Blatt - son of EuroLeague champ coach David Blatt - were also some of the protagonists of the day together with familiar names like Luke Sikma, Maodo Lo, Marcus Eriksson or Louis Olinde.
ALBA was the fourth team this season to host Media Day, a day for the team to go through several stations including official photo sessions, promotional spots, posing for TV graphics or live sessions with fans through social media, in order to gather all the material that will be needed for the rest of the season.
