EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge tips: Round 5

The first two-round week of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season left only two undefeated teams, AX Armani Exchange Milan and FC Barcelona, and three others looking for their first wins - FC Bayern Munich and Zalgiris Kaunas, which face each other in Round 5, and defending champion Anadolu Efes Istanbul. There were only three road wins in 18 EuroLeague games played last week; only Barcelona, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv and Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz were able to win away from home. It is time to risk a bit more in the EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge, going for players who are seeing extended playing time, but also those who didn't have good starts and should bounce back really soon.

Remember to keep on the bench those players whose games are scheduled in the second game of the round - you can always add them if the players in the first turn don't do well, so it gives you an advantage. With so many good games in Round 5, it is difficult to point out just five fantasy suggestions, but here they are:

1. Dinos Mitoglou, AX Armani Exchange (11.2 credits) - Mitoglou has been unstoppable over the last 10 days, hitting shots from beyond the arc and playing with really high intensity at both ends. He had a great double week, getting a PIR of 20 against Maccabi and 15 against Efes to keep Milan undefeated. Mitoglou also had a PIR of 26 in Italian League action - in just 19 minutes!

2. Oscar da Silva, ALBA Berlin (7.2 credits) – He's the biggest bargain in the EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge right now. da Silva took advantage of ALBA's many frontcourt injuries to see playing time and make the most out of it. He is averaging 17.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and a PIR of 21.0 until now. It doesn't look like he will slow down anytime soon. A pleasant surprise!

3. Johannes Voigtmann, CSKA Moscow (12.8 credits) - With Nikola Milutinov and Toko Shengelia injured for several weeks, and Kenneth Faried joining the team this week, it looks like Johannes Voigtmann and Will Clyburn should be CSKA's main frontcourt scorers for a little while. Voigtmann has the size, ball handling, basketball IQ and shooting range to find advantages against any opponent.

4. Augustine Rubit, FC Bayern Munich (8.7 credits) - He falls in the "quality players looking to bounce back" category. Rubit struggled in the first double week, averaging 5.0 points and a PIR of 1.0. He had done much better in the previous two games, averaging 11.5 points and a PIR of 14.0. Rubit plays against his former team, Zalgiris Kaunas, and that should give him an edge.

5. Donta Hall, AS Monaco (9.6 credits) - Hall is proof that you don't need to play a lot of minutes to be really valuable in the EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge. Despite spending less than 19 minutes per night on the court, Hall is averaging 11.5 points on 75.0% two-point shooting, 7.0 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and a PIR of 16.0. And of course, loads of outstanding dunks.
