About the program: Fenerbahce Dogus Istanbul has joined forces with Special Olympics Turkey to run its One Team program of this season. The program aims to help in the social inclusion of intellectually disabled people and break stereotypes of each group within the local community.
The 8 week program runs every 10 days and is tailor-made for a group of 12 participants with intellectual disabilities as well as 10 other participants without intellectual disabilities. The program also incorporates the active involvement of 22 family members, 10 volunteers and 4 coaches.
Throughout the program, the One Team coaches are working with the following life-skills: cooperation, self-confidence, motivation, communication and discipline. Fenerbahce’s One Team program is highlighted by the inclusion between participants with and without intellectual disabilities and the role that families and volunteers are going to develop during the program.
