Ambassador: James Gist

Main social skills: Self-development, Leadership

About the program: Panathinaikos Athens is delivering its One Team Program together with Special Olympics Hellas for the second consecutive season. The main objective of this season’s program is to help the athletes identify their strengths and realise their potential both in basketball and as a member of the society.

Around 20 participants aged 15-45 are attending the program, which consists of 12 sessions over 12 weeks, each lasting two hours. The program is broken down into three categories: social development, self-development and leadership. One Team coaches and coaches from Special Olympics Hellas are covering these categories by working on different social skills such as communication, respect and confidence, all developed by using basketball as a tool.
